The loss of smell that can accompany the coronavirus is unique and very different from what someone affected by a bad cold or flu can experience, say European researchers who have studied the issue. For example, when Covid-19 patients have a loss of smell, it tends to be sudden and severe. And, in general, they don't have a stuffy nose, nor do they runny. In fact, most people with coronavirus are still able to breathe freely. Revision Review
